Step 1: Identification
Errors may be identified through:
- Reader feedback and corrections submitted via email
- My own review and proofreading
- New information that contradicts previous content
- Periodic content audits
Step 2: Verification
Before making corrections, I verify:
- The error is confirmed and substantiated
- The correction is accurate and properly sourced
- The scope and significance of the error
Step 3: Correction
Corrections are made by:
- Updating the content with accurate information
- Adding a revision note for significant changes
- Including the date of the correction
- Preserving context where helpful
Step 4: Transparency
For significant corrections, I add notes like:
Update (January 27, 2026): This section was revised to correct an error in the original data. The previous version stated X; updated research shows Y. Thanks to [Reader Name] for flagging this.
Revision Notes Format
Revision notes typically include:
- Date: When the correction was made
- What changed: Brief explanation of the correction
- Why it changed: Reason for the update (if relevant)
- Credit: Acknowledgment if a reader identified the error
Outdated Content
As learning evolves, some content may become outdated.
How I Handle Outdated Content
- Update: Refresh the content with current information and add a revision note
- Archive: Mark content as outdated with a note explaining newer perspectives
- Redirect: Point readers to updated articles that supersede old content
- Remove: In rare cases, remove content entirely if it's no longer relevant or accurate
I prefer updating over deleting. Transparency includes showing how thinking evolves.
Reader Responsibility
While I strive for accuracy, readers should:
- Verify important information independently
- Consider the publication date of articles
- Recognize that my understanding evolves over time
- Use content as one input among many in decision-making
Reminder: All content is educational and informational gained through continuous professional journey. It should be consider as such.
